What local employers say about their experiences:
Long Beach Career-Linked Learning (CaLL) connects students with employers to deliver high-quality work-based learning experiences that benefit both our employers and our students.
Our mission is to ensure all Long Beach students—from middle school to college—have access to inspiring work-based learning opportunities in growing and emerging career sectors, complementing what they learn in class, so that they gain the skills and knowledge needed to be successful members of our local economy.
Long Beach CaLL streamlines the process by recruiting and preparing employers to provide quality work-based learning opportunities to Long Beach students, and works closely with educators to ensure students are prepared and well-suited for each opportunity. This helps students get the most out of their experiences and reduces burdens on employers and teachers.
Employers can invest in the future of their workforce by providing students with high-quality work-based learning opportunities such as field trips, mentorships, job shadows and internships. Employers have the opportunity to impact and mold the skills that our students graduate with.
Teachers, faculty and administrators have better access to a range of work-based learning opportunities for their students inside and outside of the classroom—including job shadowing, mentorships and internships. In addition to offering opportunities directly to students, employers can also off er externships and guidance to teachers. Educators can sharpen their understanding of the latest trends and innovations in an industry pathway which allows them to incorporate what they have learned into their lessons, benefiting students and the employers who will one day hire those students.
Make the CaLL! There are many ways to support local students and our community’s future workforce. Let Long Beach CaLL make it easy.
